Below is looking from the doorway that you normally would enter:
Here's the view from the kitchen.
Here is the view from the other doorway (dining room)
Here are a couple of other tries:
That doorway to the right doesn't help. I've often contemplated closing it off. It would make the functionality of the room so much better. I could use the entire wall for a group seating. I can think of a friend of mine who just put a drape over her doorway to deal with this sort of problem.
I swapped chairs with the living room bergeres. I know I need to get stuff recovered.
Do you think the floral chairs are ok in here? I'm afraid they make the settee look dingy. I do miss the rug that I had in here.
The overall room size is 13 feet wide by 16 feet long. Add 3 doorways, and the functionality goes downhill. I had used it as a dining room, but it's right next to a dining room, but I do think the table in there could be used as a breakfast table.
The pictures above are from last night. I got up this morning and gave it another try.
It still seems bare since they had me take the rug out. Maybe I should get one of those seagrass ones, and bring my camphor trunk back for a coffee table.
From a color standpoint, does the needlepoint Goya pillow help?
I think I will bring a TV back from the other house and put it on the table to the left. That will make the realtor happy. I am thinking that the table does give you the idea that you could use it as a breakfast table, homework table, etc. The seating lets you think you can visit with the cook. I've had a sofa in here before, and it really got used alot in parties. However, it is a coral color, and I thought that was too strong of a statement for staging. The wallpaper stripe inspiration and color was from a Diamond Baratta room.
The realtor wants that painted. The suggestion was yellow.
I've been thinking, should I EVER purchase another sofa, it will be a SMALL sofa.
Like this size by Sherrill (72")
Or this one:
Width 71" . I like this look, but is it too contemporary for my house?
Wouldn't it solve my problems!
